Sprout Lessons
Orthodox students can play a significant role in realizing a better future for our Orthodox church through their faith, their works, and their commitment to learning about and taking an active role in the mission and vision of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
The Archon Ecumenical Patriarchate Global Educational Initiative is designed to provide students with an introduction to the Ecumenical Patriarch and the Patriarchate in an engaging and creative way. Our Sunday School educators serve as our partners to carry this work forward through our Sprout Lessons!
Students will learn about the factors that shape their Orthodox identity and develop an appreciation for the ways in which our Ecumenical Patriarch and other Orthodox leaders work tirelessly to inspire, lead, and defend the Orthodox faith around the world.

Church School Directors Online Meeting
All Church School Directors with the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco are invited to join the now-quarterly online meeting to exchange ideas and share solutions to common challenges. Next Quarterly Meeting – Thursday, January 9 at 7:00 pm
A complete two-year parent-led preschool program: “Moms, Pops & Tots” was released as a result of the Strategic Planning process. Welcome to the Religious Educator’s Forum
Welcome to the Religious Education Ministry of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco. Resources and supplemental materials from the Metropolis of San Francisco are posted here, including releases from the Strategic Plan Implementation pertaining to Christian Education and Formation. This is also a site where our Metropolis Church School teachers can share their lesson plans and ideas, and look for inspiration from other teachers.
Most of us are using the curriculum from the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Religious Education. Many teachers have developed original lessons ideas, discussion questions, crafts, games and other learning activities to along with specific textbook lessons. Please help us get things started by uploading something that has worked well in your classroom. Photos are always desirable… or just text is fine too!
